Osceola was a permanently disabled and non-releasable Bald Eagle that was cared
for by the American Eagle Foundation and possessed under educational
permits issued by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
Osceola had a full wing amputated and could not survive in the wild. He was trained and used
in thousands of environmental educational programs from 1983 to 2021. Osceola passed away on
February 6, 2022 at the age of 41 years old.


John Stokes has been a hang glider pilot since 1975 and has worked professionally with birds since 1977.
Employed by Wings To Soar since 2013 ( http://www.soarsouth.org ) and conducts programs at
Rock City (www.seerockcity.com) above Chattanooga,Tennessee.
