This Dolly and Osceola shot was taken at Dollywood in April, 1991. Dolly was waiting to do a live remote for the Today Show and didn't know that I had slipped in behind her with Osceola. She apparently felt his presence and had a genuine look of surprise on her face when she saw him. Photo by Marvin West. |
This black and white group shot was taken in July 1989 at the Nashville Airport.
We were waiting for some young Bald Eagles to arrive that were set to be released at Reelfoot Lake. The two notable people are Garth Brooks and Suzy Bogguss. Also
pictured is Dean Dillon on Garth's right. I don't know the other two fellows. The
interesting thing is Garth and Suzy were new young stars and were not really well
known. In fact, one of the guys from the record label pulled me aside and said, "You
see that guy in the striped shirt and cowboy hat?" I said, "Yeah", "His name is
Garth Brooks and mark my word, he's gonna be big!"
Big was understatement! |
Osceola and Country singer John Anderson. This photo was taken in 1985 after Osceola went to the Cumberland Wildlife Foundation. Osceola was at the Cumberland Wildlife Foundation about 8 months before I got there. Photo by Michael Pittman. |
Osceola and Bill Murray photo was taken in October 1996 on the
set of Good Morning America. Osceola and I were on a featured
segment and Bill, along with Cindy Crawford were scheduled guests. |
Osceola and John at his first official program at Ford Elementary School in New Albany, Mississippi. Osceola was not glove trained at this point, so I had to cradle him to show his wing.

Clipping is from the Commercial Appeal in Memphis from
January 1983.
It shows Osceola a few days after surgery with
the nub of his left wing still bandaged. |
